When your computer is used by many persons, for example, in Home or Office, your Personal files are open for any one to see. You can just use a simple method in Windows to hide your file, for not allowing easy access to others. Although many File Locker Programs are available in the market , with Password Protection. This is a basic method, that, many people forgot to use, & it can save your files from easy acess for others. "Hide Your Important Files, In Your Computer, The Simplest Method".
To hide a file or Folder, right click that file, this will open a box, left click on "properties",in that box, this will open another window with, General, Security, View, Version Tabs.

Select, General, & check the Box Hidden , then click Apply (don't forget to click apply, otherwise changes will not take place).
Again I am summarizing the process:
Right click the file to Hide--> Left Click Properties--> select General--> Check the Hidden Box--> Click Apply.NOW YOU ARE DONE. YOUR FILE IS
"HIDDEN NOW"
NOW HOW TO SEE YOUR FILES AGAIN:
Open Your Document Destination, 'My Document'. Select
Organize-->select
Folder options.

In the Folder option Select View---> click the option Show Hidden files----> That's all. DONE


Again do not forget to click APPLY changes , if you are UNHIDING the File.
By this way you can easily hide & unhide your files in common computers, although this is not a 100% safe method, albeit it provides a moderate protection, because generally no one goes to see hidden files by this method, until unless some one is behind your files..:-)
