VLC media player is a portable Multimedia Player for audio & video. It can play almost all types of media like MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4,DivX, Mp3, AAC,FLV,asf, WMV,WAV,DVD, VCD & streaming media. 1.0.1 is the latest edition from video lan team. The interesting part is , it plays even unfinished downloaded media. For example , if you are downloading a movie from net,
& if the movie is just 30% downloaded, VLC will play that movie, without stopping the download, so you can instantly see the video as soon as you start download. The same thing is applicable for audio files. Another great part of VLC is , that it also repairs your unfinished file, if there is any problem ( in unfinished file seeking do not work, but VLC repair, will allow seeking to work:-)).Other features like taking a snap shot from any part of movie, fixing audio errors, volume increase to 400% ( helps in video with poor audio), bug fixing, multi language support. I don't remember when I last used Windows media player, since I installed VLC on my system.
